On Wednesday, October 16, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented to people's deputies and the Ukrainian community in the Verkhovna Rada a plan for Ukraine's victory in the war waged against it by Russia, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

If Ukraine's partners support this victory plan, the war can end no later than next year, the head of state said during a speech in parliament.

Ukraine's victory plan consists of five points and three secret annexes.

"The number one point is geopolitical. The second and third points are military. Point four is economic. Point five of the Victory Plan is security," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The first item of the plan – geopolitical – envisages inviting Ukraine to NATO in the near future.

"We understand that NATO membership is a matter of the future, not the present. But Putin must see that his geopolitical calculations are losing. Russians must feel that their tsar has lost geopolitically," the president said.

According to him, the defense point of the victory plan involves the assistance of partners in equipping reserve brigades for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the lifting of restrictions on the use of Western long-range weapons in the Russian Federation. In addition, it is necessary to expand the use of Ukrainian missiles and drones, as well as to increase the capabilities of Ukrainian air defense. The key to the implementation of the defense point of the victory plan is the continuation of the operations of the Armed Forces in certain areas of the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as the destruction of the offensive potential of the Russian Federation in the occupied territory of Ukraine, noted Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

The third point is about deterrence. It has a secret annex that has been shared with the US and some European leaders. Ukraine proposes to place on its soil a comprehensive non-nuclear strategic deterrent package that will be sufficient to protect Ukraine from any military threat from Russia.

The economic point of the victory plan concerns critical resources of Ukraine.

"Ukraine offers the United States together with certain partners, in particular the European Union, of which Ukraine will be a part, and with other partners in the world, to conclude a special agreement on the joint protection of critical resources available in Ukraine, joint investment and the use of the relevant economic potential," the president emphasized in his speech.

As for the security component of the plan, Ukraine proposes, if the partners agree, to replace individual military contingents of the US armed forces stationed in Europe with Ukrainian units after the war.
