Electricity consumption increased due to a decline in the efficiency of solar power plants due to cloudy weather in the west of the country
Today, Tuesday, June 17, electricity consumption in Ukraine has increased, the press service of NPC Ukrenergo reports.
Thus, as of 9:30 a.m., the consumption level was 5.1% higher than the previous day — Monday, the transmission system operator recorded. Energy experts explain that the reason for the increase in energy consumption from the general network is cloudy weather and rain in the western regions of the country, which causes low efficiency of household solar power plants (SPPs) in several regions.
Yesterday, June 16, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 2% higher than the maximum of the previous working day — Friday, June 13. The reason for such changes is the traditional increase in energy consumption at the beginning of the week.
On Tuesday, there is still a need to shift active energy consumption, i.e. the use of powerful electrical appliances, to daytime hours, from 10:00 to 18:00, when the operation of the solar power plant is most efficient.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", as of yesterday morning, June 16, "Ukrenergo" noted a decrease in electricity consumption. Clear weather contributed to the efficient operation of household solar power plants, so energy consumption from the general network decreased.
