Russians again attacked the previously destroyed TPP "Centrenergo"
According to preliminary estimates, the company's losses from previous attacks on its thermal power plants already exceed 250 million euros
On the night of January 20, Russian troops again attacked one of the thermal power plants of PJSC "Centrenergo", despite the fact that the plant had been completely destroyed earlier, the company's press service reported.
There were no injuries, and after the shelling, specialists began clearing the rubble, the report says.
The company notes that total losses from previous attacks already exceed 250 million euros, and this amount will only grow as the assessment of the damage is still ongoing.
According to Centrenergo, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops, the company's thermal power plants have been subjected to 50 attacks.
In the spring of 2024, Centrenergo became the only company that was forced to completely stop generation due to massive attacks, the company's press service reminds.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", in May 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated a total of over UAH 1.55 billion to "Centrenergo" for the reconstruction of the Zmiivska and Trypilska thermal power plants destroyed by Russian missiles.
As a result of a massive Russian attack on April 11, 2024, the Trypillya Thermal Power Plant, owned by PJSC "Centrenergo", was completely destroyed. Thus, the company lost 100% of its own generation.
The Russians have sharply intensified shelling of energy infrastructure facilities since March 22, 2024. Since then, the enemy has periodically launched missile and drone strikes on power plants, main substations and power grids, as well as on gas enterprises.
In particular, on March 22, 2024, the Zmiivska TPP "Centrenergo" in the Kharkiv region was completely destroyed. And the Vuglehirska TPP in the Donetsk region, which also belonged to the state-owned generating company "Centrenergo", was occupied by Russian troops on July 25, 2022.
