26 November 2024

Russian military drones attacked the energy facility several times

In Ternopil region, a fire has been localized at an energy facility that was damaged by a drone attack this morning. Firefighters are at work. This was discussed at a briefing in the Ternopil OVA, Ukrinform reports.

According to the head of the Ternopil Oblast Regional Power Plant, Vyacheslav Negoda, the power facility was damaged. Almost the entire region depends on it for power supply.

"Drones attacked the energy facility several times. Air defense forces managed to shoot down three enemy UAVs. But the others hit the target. Rescuers quickly localized the fire site. Immediately after the enemy attack, 70% of the Ternopil region was left without electricity," said Negoda.

The head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Ternopil region, Viktor Masley, noted that due to repeated attacks, it was necessary to withdraw people and equipment so as not to expose rescuers to danger.

"Only at 3:50 did we receive permission to eliminate the emergency situation. At 7:51 the fire was localized. The elimination of the consequences of the emergency situation is still ongoing. We predict that work at the facility will last several days, because the fire is quite complex," said Masley.

As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", emergency shutdowns were introduced in the Ternopil region - due to a UAV attack.
