Of this amount, $825 million will go to support the energy system this winter
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth more than a billion dollars. USAID administrator Samantha Paver announced this the day before during her visit to Kyiv.
825 million dollars from this amount will be transferred to support the energy industry of Ukraine before the onset of cold weather. This amount is twice as much as USAID allocated for energy last year.
“With winter approaching, Putin is once again attacking the energy infrastructure, hoping to use the cold weather as a weapon against the Ukrainian people... That's why we allocated... twice as much as last year. And these resources will now allow us to support those who carry out repairs, increase capacity and protect critical infrastructure," said the USAID administrator.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", аs of this morning, 538 villages have been cut off due to hostilities. In some districts of Poltava and Kharkiv regions, a schedule of electricity supply has been introduced.
